Inspiring the Next Generation Through Rowing

STUDENT OUTREACH PROGRAMMES

One of the key pillars of our outreach efforts is engaging students through school-based programmes. These sessions are designed to introduce rowing in an accessible and interactive manner while highlighting the life skills that the sport develops.
Recently, Singapore Rowing had the opportunity to conduct outreach programmes at Kent Ridge Secondary School and Commonwealth Secondary School, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of rowing through engaging presentations and hands-on activities.
Our coaches and athletes shared insights into the sport, discussing:
  • The fundamentals of rowing
  • Pathways for participation and development
  • The values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance
  • Opportunities available within Singapore's rowing community
Students also had the chance to experience rowing through indoor rowing machines and interactive demonstrations, providing them with a glimpse into the sport's physical and technical demands.
These outreach sessions serve as an important first step in helping young people discover rowing and encouraging them to explore new sporting opportunities.

​COMMUNITY OUTREACH & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

Beyond schools, Singapore Rowing actively participates in community events and public engagement initiatives to bring rowing closer to the wider community.
